Bridging the Gap Between Pilates and Physical Therapy
Meet the Founders
Sarah McMahon, PT, DPT, CPI, Co-Founder of Pilates Physical Therapy
Sarah realized her potential in the physical therapy field while working toward a Bachelor's in Dance and Education at Drexel University, earning a 400 hr. Pilates certification under first generation instructor Jennifer Morley, volunteering at the HMS School for Cerebral Palsy, and growing up with a special needs sister. Sarah has always had a desire to create individualized treatment sessions using unique interventions developed through her vast movement background. Her time in Jefferson's DPT program has further solidified her passion for treating complex medical populations including those with neuromuscular conditions, amputees, and pediatrics. Blair Nettles, PT, DPT, CPI, Co-Founder of Pilates Physical Therapy
Blair was first introduced to Pilates and physical therapy back in high school during her extensive knee rehabilitation following ACL reconstructive surgery. However, the most profound impact on her pursuit to become a physical therapist came from watching her mother strive to regain function and independence following a removal of a cancerous spinal cord tumor, which resulted in paraplegia. Pilates was an instrumental part of Blair's knee rehab and continues to be a key factor in her mother re-learning how to activate muscles to walk again. Blair's passion for teaching and interest in movement therapy lead her to pursue a 500-hour professional Pilates certification with Senior Level Teacher Trainer Connie Borho through Peak Pilates. Blair is a firm believer in the benefits of Pilates after learning all that Pilates has to offer and experiencing the results! To learn more, please check out Blair's online portfolio below!
